The Edo state chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has exonerated itself from the recent attacks against the APC Pastor Ize-Iyamu running mate of the September 19th election, Hon. Gani Audu in Agbede, the community, during his recent visit to the palace of Oba of Agbede, insisting that the party does not sponsored protest.
In a statement made available to the press signed by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Chris Nekhihare, the party exonerated itself from the recent attacks.
Mr. Nehikhare release said: "we had nothing to do with the protests and attacks as claimed by the APC. Hon Audu's kinsmen organised the protests to show their disaffection about his zero performance as council chairman and his refusal to be sworn in as lawmaker thereby denying them of effective representation."
"It's an established fact that Hon Audu performed woefully as local government chairman amongst other allegations against him by his kinsmen, therefore, the youths must be commended for the courage they displayed in expressing their discontent over Audu's failings and betrayal of the trust reposed in him to deliver the dividends of democracy."
The party also stressed that similar treatment awaits other politicians who choose to deprived his people the dividends of democracy.
You will recall that recently, Hon Gani Audu, APC deputy governorship candidate, was heckled by some Agbede youths on his home coming visit.
But the APC swiftly claimed the youths were sponsored by the PDP to embarrass the party and its candidate, an allegation the latter has vehemently denied.
