Ward 7 PDP Esan North-East Members Give Thanks to God For Obaseki's Re-election

It was a moment  of thanksgiving at St. Theresa of the Christ Catholic Church, Ukoni, Uromi in Esan North-East local government area of Edo State as leaders and members of Ward 7 People’s Democratic  (PDP) as well as other  members of the church converged in the church auditorium to give thanks to God on the reelection of the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu in the just concluded gubernatorial election.

In a sermon, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew Ogbenbe said God is indeed faithful for the peaceful election that took place on September 19, 2020. I pray God Almighty to guide, protect and direct the elected candidates so that they can do more for the state.

“I want to appreciate God Almighty for the lives of our amiable Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu for the success recorded in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Edo State. My pray is to God Almighty to guide, protect and direct our wake and see  governor throughout the remaining period of his first term and lead him all through the huddles that may come his way in his second tenure as governor of Edo State”.

A former lawmaker in the National Assembly and two time speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Itulah and other PDP leaders in Ward 7, Ukoni Uromi, while speaking on the thanksgiving service said the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shaibu at the September 19 poll is God ordained hence the thanksgiving mass.  They thanked God for the free and fair election that brought Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shaibu to power, noting that God is the reason for their re-election, adding that the protection of God will surely continue to be upon them.
Rt. Hon. Friday Itulah said, "For 13 years,  the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been out of government and we have being pray to God and we were hoping that by this election, there will be a turn around, and before this election, Governor Obaseki came and with that, PDP came back to power. The ways of God is different from the ways of man. You can see what has happen, God has done us great wonders."
Also speaking, Barr. Odutto Eronmosele said, "From the look of things, it is not by might neither by power but the God supreme came to play  that Edo governorship election was adjudged free, fair and transparent in the history of Nigeria.."

People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki defeated his closest rival of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu with 307.955 to 223,619 with a difference of  84,336 votes in the Edo State governorship election held last Saturday, 19th September, 2029  and adjudged to be free, fair and credible by both domestic and foreign observers.
