Edo Dynasty United Worldwide (EDUW) has sensitized the public about the second wave of COVID -19 pandemic.
Members of the EDUW who converged at the Museum ground, Ring Road, Kings Square, Benin City, Edo state went round major streets in the state capital to sensitize the people about the 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Given reasons why the group embark on the mission, a member of EDUW, Comrade Bevy Efe said they are doing it to create awareness about Covid-19 pandemic. He said, apart of the awareness there are other issues that they want Edo state government to pay attention to.
Efe also lamented about the deplorable, dilapidated and horrible state of the Edo State healthcare facilities, and appeal to the state government to address the situations.
"Today, we are here on behalf our President, Comrade Brown Osewingie and other committed members to compliment the state government efforts to sensitize the people of Edo about the 2nd wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
"This rally is to create awareness on Covid-19, we believe Covid-19 protocol should be strictly adherent to if not eradicated.
"Our plans are to share face masks, sanitizers and food to the vulnerable in our society.
"Edo Dynasty United Worldwide (EDUW) is also using this medium to call on the state government to pay proper attention to the healthcare facilities that are in deplorable condition across the state.
"Our healthcare facilities are outdated, we urged the government to address it, and we also want to thank the Edo people for complying to the dos and donts on how to prevent the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently ravaging the wirld, these are our core values and message," said Bevy.
Speaking to newsmen, a female organiser, Princess Jessica Iguodala said, despite calling on people to adherent to all the Covid-19 protocols, such as; wearing of face masks, hand sanitizers, that the state government should offer solutions to the issue of insecurity, education and other infrastructural decay in the state.
Princess Iguodala said, "Edo Dynasty United Worldwide is one people, we want to use this medium to tell the governor to assist in solving the plights of insecurity, hostility, education and others in the state.
"We want the governor to improve on those things mentioned, we are creating awareness for Covid-19. COVID-19 is real, we want to tell the people to practice social distance and to teach them how to maintain social distance and washing of hands."
Osagbovo Emovon, said the reason why they are here is to support Edo state government to inform the people about COVID-19 pandemic.
"We are here to enlightening Edo people the important of using face masks, washing of hands, sanitizers and socio- distances. We will give them face masks," Emovon opined.
