BSM Condemns Attack On BTC Secretary

...warns Kola Edokpayi Of His Utterances In Benin Kingdom

Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) worldwide, (BSM), has Condemned the purported statement credited to

one Marxist Kola Edokpayi, alledging the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council (BTC) of being the one fuelling the Ccrisis in Iguoshodin N’Ebudin Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

In a press statement issued and signed by its President, Elder Curtis Eghosa Ugbo, said, Kola Edopkayi and his cohorts do not understand the administration of the Benin Traditional Council (BTC).

Marxist Kola Edokpayi, has in a press briefing accused the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council (BTC) ,of being the one fuelling the crisis in Iguoshodin N’Ebudin, a community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Elder Ugbo said, “this allegation no doubt would have stem from what the so called Pastor Sunny Osahon told Kola Edokpayi to say based on financial inducement.

“I wants to delve into the issue of wrong statement as being peddled by the so called Talakawa Parliament, as it relates to the needless crisis in Iguoshodin N’Ebudin, a community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

“In the press conference he addressed Marxist Kola Edokpayi, the self-acclaimed human rights activist accused the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council (BTC) of being the one fuelling the Crisis when Kola Edopkayi and his cohorts do not understand the administration of the Benin Traditional Council (BTC)."

According to him, “If the self-acclaimed Marxist is to be honest to himself the issue at stake is that someone is trying to tarnish the image of the amiable and hardworking Secretary of the Benin Traditional Council- Mr. Frank Irabor and in so doing take a poke at the Oba of Benin Palace."

He further said, “For the information of Kola Edokpayi, who is supposed to be a true son of Benin, issues of who becomes the Okhaegele of any Community is not what the Omo N’Oba gets involved with. The issue is best handled by the Enogie or the Odionwere of such Community who from his interaction with the youths knows the one that he can easily relate with and he is solely to pick such individual to assist him in the running of the affairs of the Community on behalf of His Royal Majesty, the Omo N’ Oba N' Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba of Benin Kingdom.

"The self-styled Pastor Sunny Osahon has played a mind game on Kola Edokpayi. He has deceived him just like he deceived some people in Iguoshodin N’Ebudin that he has been appointed as Okhaegele of the Community by the Oba of Benin. There is nothing of such. He is an impostor.

“Whom the Lord has blessed no one can curse. A million of Kola Edokpayi and his retinue of hangers-on cannot shake the Secretary of the Benin Traditional Council-Mr. Frank Irabor or undo what the gods have endorsed in making him assume that position.

“We are using this medium to advice Kola Edokpayi to change his mode of operation as a human rights activist. His modus operandi looks much like the “where bele face” approach as it is coined in local parlance.

"Wwe expect Kola Edokpayi to hasten to forward a public apology to Mr. Frank Irabor, Secretary Benin Traditional Council and indeed the Oba of Benin Palace for standing truth on its head in his ill-fated press briefing.

“We also want to advise the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command and the Edo State Government to be wary of the likes of Kola Edopkayi in the State," He opined
