PDP SOUTH-SOUTH LEADERS ARE GREAT - Gov. Obaseki

The south-south leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has gathered at the Edo State Government House to officially take a position with regards to Governor Godwin Obaseki’s re-election bid in the forthcoming Edo 2030 election slated for September this year.

His Excellency Governor Ifeanyi Okowa the South South Governor representing the Governors Forum was equally present to give a clear position of the PDP Governors forum to the leadership, Delegates and members of the PDP.

Speaking to journalists after the stakeholders meeting, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa said he was in the state to fecilitate with Governor Obaseki.

"His Excellency Governor Godwin Obaseki join the PDP and as a friend and a colleague from a sister state because you never forget the vendor. I came here to first rejoice with my brother who had come to the PDP and also to rejoice with our party leaders in the PDP for opening their arms for the governor to come in to be part of the PDP family. It is time to come to felicitate with yourself to rejoice with ourselves and I actually come here to say congratulation. I know that he is doing a great job in Edo State. I am proud to associate with him and I believe that haven come into the PDP where there is are no restriction, he is obviously going into the future to do a greater job for the people of Edo State.

Responding, Governor Godwin Obaseki appreciated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for coming to support Edo PDP family."

" First I want to thank my bother Governor Iffeanyi Okowa for coming to support us and to help in the process of galvanizing the PDP for me in Edo State. As a governor and the leader of PDP in Edo State, my responsibility is to make sure that the PDP continue to enjoy victory in Edo State and in doing so, we are a united house in PDP. And so what I am doing to ensure that we have victory is to make sure that we continue to harmonize members, continue to talk to one another and all those who indicated interest and desire to contest and PDP is a very organized and I believe that with the leaders I have here, we will come to some resolution on how to go about the election at the primary on Thursday."
