The National President of Sports Writers' Association, Comrade Ahmed Aigbona, has lauded the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ably led by the president, Amaju Pinnick described the sincerity and transparency of the association, for considering SWAN and other stakeholders in its Restart Funds Distribution (RFD).

In a press statement issued and signed by the Secretary-General of SWAN, Comrade Mike Oboh SWAN l said the Comrade Ahmed Aigbona-led executive  is for total commitment toward ensuring that the trust is not betrayed.

He said, "As we thank the Sponsors, Partners, CAF and FIFA and NFF for this gesture, we are assuring NFF of our total commitment towards ensuring that the 30,000 dollars allocated to SWAN will be disbursed accordingly among members across the chapters in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT," he said.

He added that the allocated amount would go a long way in alleviating the hardship brought about by the novel coronavirus among SWAN members and other stakeholders as captured on the NFF RFD list.

Aigbona who expressed satisfaction with the modalities for the disbursement stated that the gesture and the kind-hearted nature of NFF leadership would further cement a good working relationship with the beneficiaries.

SWAN which was established on February 1 of 1964 has been a dependable partner of the NFF over the years, using its platforms to promote and market football in the country.

"It is on this note that we once again say a big 'thank you' to NFF, its leadership and its members across Nigeria and other partners across the world for the support to our noble association, SWAN.

"We are also using this medium to urge Nigerians to always keep to the preventive measures on COVID-19, as stated by the relevant authorities", he concluded.
