The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has warned those still parading themselves as member of the disbanded Community Development Association (CDA) to refrain from such act or face the wrath of the land.
The Benin Monarch made this call in his palace when Benin Christian Community held a special prayer session to the end the 2020 Universal Week of Prayer.
The Oba noted that the modest achievements recorded so far in Benin Kingdom was due to the power of God and the Ancestors; pointing out that he recognizes the important role of prayers in rulership.
He commended the Chairman, Rev. Dr. Godspower Ogbonmwan and members of the Benin Christian Community for organizing the prayer session and urged them not to relent in praying to God to grant the nation's leaders at all levels wisdom and the ability to lead the people on the path of peace, unity and progress.
The Oba described the prevailing cases of cultism, kidnapping, robbery and insecurity as temptations to text our faith and admonished the people to be closer to God.
Earlier, the Pilate of Universal Baptist Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Usama Usuanlele informed the Oba of Benin that the activities of the outlawed CDA in Benin Kingdom has resurfaced in most communities being masterminded by some Okaeghele, Ohen and Enigie.
He appealed to the Benin Monarch to reconvene a meeting of all community leaders with a view to sound a warning to them to desist from the act.
One of the highlights was a special prayers for peace, unity, progress, protection and well-being of the Oba, members of the royal family, chiefs and the entire people of Benin Kingdom.
